Marbella is the most famous city on the Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol is in Anadalusía, one of the regions of Spain.

It was in the early 1960s that Swedes, among others, discovered the Sun Coast and the major tourist destination was Marbella. At that time, the marina of Puerto Banús was also built, which attracted tourists from all over the world. The architect José Banús was behind the construction of both the harbour, the casino, and the bullring. Construction then also continued with housing and golf courses.

Marbella is the most famous city on the Costa del Sol located at the foot of La Concha, the mountain top that looks like a movie set in the background of the city.

In addition to luxury and flair, there are lots of small shops, markets, shopping centers and a large selection of restaurants. The promenade along the seashore is very popular for a stroll or a trip on a bicycle!

A well-visited place is the Plaza de Los Naranjos in the old town and the nightlife is extraordinary.

Nueva Andalucía is one of the most popular parts of Marbella with charming Andalusian architecture.

The sunny coast has a fantastic Mediterranean climate with warm and sunny summers and mild winters, and Marbella with surroundings of high peaks and valleys creates a special microclimate.

In addition to all this, there is proximity to the Sierra Nevada for skiing.
